Joanne Kasem serves as counsel at Kennedy McCarthy & Rumm, LLP, representing employers in a wide range of labor and employment disputes. Joanne’s practice is focused on litigating matters involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour claims.

Joanne earned her Juris Doctor from the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. During law school, Joanne served as a research assistant supporting a law professor. She was also involved with the Moot Court Board, where she was a competition chair for two years. In addition, Joanne gained valuable experience as a judicial extern to the Honorable Jannet Perez Santiso. Joanne graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University, Long Beach, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Human Resources Management, where she developed a strong interest in employment law and workplace relations.
Joanne works with employers to make complex employment issues understandable while providing practical counsel to her clients.
